I thought I knew where the story was going, but in part it seemed wrong. Satisfied and sad at the same time.
Good drawing, animation and effects!
It's a bit inconvenient to look at the text on one side of the screen and then look at the visual changes on the other side of the screen, especially with the noise effect.
Hey! Thank you so much for your warm feedback! I'm really glad the game was able to exceed your expectations!
Yeah, the text placement was a bit of an unfortunate decision. In future games, everything will definitely be positioned more conveniently :3
"This is such a calming, peaceful game. It captures the specific slice-of-life emotional state of relaxing in a vista so well. It makes me feel like—wait, what's happening? What did that warning at the beginning say again? Oh god."
Also, the choice of music was brilliant. It's such a simple piece, but that makes it versatile enough to adapt to the emotion of the story line-by-line. It starts out feeling tranquil, and then sad, and then at the end has this bittersweet, "in memoriam" feel.
Beautiful game all around <3
Hey! Thank you so much for your warm feedback! I'm really glad you enjoyed the game and noticed how the music adapts to the current situation. It's such a tiny detail, but it completely changes the overall experience.
Damn, the way you were able to paint such a vivid picture of someone's life in this context is madly impressive. I fully expected this to be a turn on the idea of someone's last moments before jumping off a roof from the title and content warnings, but I honestly like what you made a lot more, the slowly changing sprite and the introspective thoughts nailed the tension as we learn more about a life that unfortunately never blossomed the way it could have.
Amazing entry, especially for a first game from you afaik, loved it!
Hey! Thank you so much for such a lovely and thoughtful review! I’m really glad that this story exceeded your expectations and that you enjoyed it so much!
Yes, this is essentially my first completed game, but I’m currently working on a large-scale visual novel — so the creative journey definitely continues!
Oh I'm crying now typing this...I honestly have no words. I was playing in the browser so it was quite easy for me to notice when something changed, and as the art increasingly did change, the devastation of realizing what was happening dawned on me and OMG I WANT TO CRY
HONESTLY I WAS INDEED CRYING. THIS IS A FATE I WOULD NEVER WISH ON ANYONE, BUT IT IS JUST SO UNFAIR T_T
I want to hug her so much. While in that rooftop, I hope she was at least in comfort.
It especially broke me every time she called out to the ones she loved and told them she loved them.
The pacing of everything, the unveiling of the tragedy, and her feelings all laid out like that. Gosh it was excellent and I want to just cry.
Hey! Thank you so much for sharing your feelings! Your words truly touched me. I’m really glad that this story resonated with you so deeply and that you enjoyed this game so much!
I am absolutely speechless. I noticed this game amongst the submissions of O2A2, and something attracted me to it, I knew I wanted to play it. Maybe it was the title. Maybe it was the floating hair. Maybe it was because I was expecting something introspective from it.
Now, I have trouble forming my thoughts and sharing them. When I launched the game, I was pleased with the music. It was soft, comforting somehow. Then I started playing it, not knowing what to expect. I did notice the progressive art change and was expecting the more obvious explanation of a person being in this... condition on a rooftop. But then the reveal happened, and my heart somehow broke. This was more than an introspection, but a complete tragedy. Devastating, unfair, and yet, so meaningful. Thank you for tackling this theme, it was brave. This game will stay in my mind. Definitely one of my top picks, if not my top pick from O2A2 so far.
I also noticed you had various translations of the game. If you ever need one in French, don't hesitate to reach out to me, as I really think this story deserves to be shared to as many people as possible. And also, I think it is your first game? Either way, never cease to create, I am looking forward to more: I truly enjoyed your story telling, and you have found a fan.
Hey! Thank you so much for such a warm and detailed review! It really means a lot to me to know that my story was able to touch so many people!
I’d say this is the first game I’ve actually managed to finish. I’m also currently working on a large-scale visual novel, so it won’t be released anytime soon — but I’ll definitely announce it when the time comes!
Thank you so much for offering to translate the game into French! I’d be more than happy to add another language. Please feel free to reach out to me on Discord — my username (and tag) there is kkkira.
This one has really stuck with me; I'm still thinking about this one even a couple of days after playing it. During my playthrough, I was focused on reading the text and not really paying too much attention to the art, that sure was surprising when I did look over! Really great work!
Hey! Thank you so much for your kind and inspiring words! I'm really glad you enjoyed this short story and that it resonated with you.
Looking back, I probably should have repositioned the text box to make the character’s facial expressions more visible. But I decided to keep it symmetrical because I liked the visual balance. Still, I’m glad you noticed these subtle changes!
I really like the art style. The windblown hair looks great.
Hey! Thank you so much! I'm very glad you liked it!
